The Case for Change

Britain doesn't yet have
the words for what we built

8M+
People from the ASEAN diaspora living and contributing in Britain today
Other
The single word on the official form that erases ten distinct nations and centuries of contribution
1
In every official dataset that tries to count us,and fails, because the categories don't exist
How We Win

Small actions,
multiplied

One young nurse records her story. One student maps what her community built in her town. One family adds their name. Alone, each is a quiet moment.

Together, they become the Contribution Ledger,a living, public record of what Asia Pacific Britain has built, served, healed and created.

We don't protest our invisibility. We produce our visibility, one contribution at a time, until it cannot be looked past.

APAC/ASEAN Stories
Linh T., Nurse,St Thomas' Hospital
"15 years on intensive care. Never counted in the data."
Marco R., Restaurateur,Brixton, South London
"My family opened the first Filipino restaurant on this street in 1987."
Priya S., Teacher,Leeds
"I taught 2,000 children. This country has never counted that."

Who We Are

TEMPO is a community of young people from across Asia Pacific Britain who,in a moment away from their busy days, add their voice, their story, and their contribution to something bigger.

Our Purpose

The community that kept every bargain

Too often, people like us are told we're doing fine,so quietly, so politely, that it works as a way of not listening at all.

We are the community that kept every bargain Britain set: be excellent, be grateful, be quiet. And so we became the "good" minority, the one that causes no trouble, asks for little, and disappears into a single word on the official form: Other.

But praise is not the same as being seen. We are not counted in the data. We do not rise as far as our work should carry us. And when we are harmed, this country does not yet have the words for it.

We love this country. That is exactly why we will no longer be invisible inside it.

"We are not asking Britain for permission to belong. We already belong. We are simply, at last, choosing to be heard."

Our Approach

The machine, not the ideology

TEMPO borrows the engine of the great civic movements,small-donor, member-driven, independent, and keeps a positioning that belongs to neither left nor right. Only to the people it is for.

01
Small Actions
Every story on the Contribution Ledger multiplies into collective force. We don't protest our invisibility,we produce our visibility.
02
Funded by Fivers
Funded by small donations from people who believe this generation deserves to be heard. This keeps us independent of any party and any single backer.
03
Non-Partisan
We hold open a space that belongs to no party of the left or the right, only to the people it is for. Borrow the engine, not the ideology.
04
Community by Community
We organise each community with its own voice, never averaged into one. Ten nations. Ten voices. One movement.
